Longest Break from Blogging - EVER!
Ok,
So - it's been over 6 months since my last entry. A lot has happened - a lot of life has passed by. I'm sorry for not being a good musician, human being, and everything else by blogging - but, I'M BACK!
The Spring semester ended well in Phoenix. I finished up my 3rd recording with the ASU Wind Band, and I've now got most of it edited. We're planning on a release before Christmas, but a technical release at the 2010 U.S. Army Tuba Euphonium Conference. I'll be on hand at the conference - performing a 50 minute recital on Friday, and premiering the new James Barnes Concerto for Euphonium and Wind Ensemble with the U.S. Army Band. Seriously - the coolest thing that has happened to me with the euphonium.
Life has been getting hectic lately - for those Just For Brass customer, I'd like to thank you for all your support. Business is going great, and we've moved into office space for the first time. Potenza Music is growing into one of the
most respected names in low brass materials - and we've got some great products for you in the coming months. Also - we've got a new website - COMING SOON! POTENZAMUSIC.COM will be launched as soon as possible. Check out a screenshot of the homepage layout.
This year professionally is pretty good. I've got a lot of recitals in the coming school year, with a lot of bookings to also be confirmed. I'll continue to operate my private studio in Phoenix, run Sonic Boom - "An Alternate Clef Ensemble for High Schoolers", and teach applied lessons at Mesa Community College. So, a busy euphonium player and teacher this year - hopefully finishing the DMA by the end of the school year.
I wanted to thank all of my family and friends for a great year, and some solid understanding the past year with the death of my father. It's been the worst and the best year on a lot of things - but as my father would say, "You're either moving forward, or getting passed up."
It's good to be back - welcome back blog!
- Pat
